Capacitive Grid & Mechanical Click Mechanics
- 1920 × 942 Capacitive Sensor Array: Beneath the matte plastic face lies an etched indium tin oxide (ITO) capacitive sensing grid. As your finger displaces electrostatic fields, the onboard controller ASIC calculates X and Y coordinate vectors with sub-pixel resolution.
- Multi-Touch Finger Isolation: The controller firmware transmits discrete coordinate packets for Touch 1 and Touch 2 simultaneously, supporting pinch-to-zoom and two-finger scroll gestures.
- Mechanical Tactile Dome Switch: Pressing down firmly anywhere on the touchpad depresses a central metal dome switch on the sub-chassis, registering a distinct digital button click.
Configuring Touchpad Radial Menus on PC
Using Steam Input, you can divide the DualSense touchpad into a Left Pad and Right Pad, create 8-way directional touch menus for MMORPG hotkeys, or configure trackball emulation for desktop mouse navigation.
