Display Hz & Pixel Persistence FAQ
What does 540Hz actually mean for gameplay?
At 540Hz the display draws one full frame every 1.85ms. 540Hz (1.85ms per frame) is bleeding-edge panel territory. Frame time is now shorter than typical human reaction gap, so further Hz buys almost nothing for play — only for the most sensitive motion tracking.
Why is my monitor locked at 60Hz instead of 540Hz?
Make sure your display settings in Windows/macOS are explicitly set to 540Hz. Also verify that you are using a high-bandwidth Cable (DisplayPort 1.4+ or HDMI 2.1).
What causes monitor ghosting?
Ghosting occurs when monitor pixels fail to change colors fast enough to keep up with the refresh rate, leaving a visible trail behind moving objects. Adjusting your monitor's Overdrive setting can eliminate this artifact.
